as I lay my baby down to sleep…for Maddie’s entire life --she has just laid down and went to sleep…no rocking…no cuddling…no bottle…just a diaper change, kiss and sleep…she always slept in her own bed…no problem…then she got sick last week…and at 19 months old the little stinker has found herself sleeping with mommy and pushing daddy out! I swear she keeps one eye open when we go to lay her down...because she will not lay down and go sleep…when I tried to put her in her bed…she screamed until I picked her back up…and laid her with me in our bed…her eyes are to die for…they smile with joy and she has this grin on her face…and she moves her body in a cuddling way to make her way into the bed and be so very comfy…last night she sat straight up looked at me --gave me a kiss and fell back down into the bed…sound asleep…she loves to sleep with mommy…and I am not sure I hate it! I love the family bed we shared with Max…but it did become a problem…I love to cuddle with Maddie…I love to hear her snore…I love to watch her dream…I just think she is pretty neat…

We bring Sammi into our bed when she's sick, too, and it's so tempting to just keep her there when she gets better! But we know we have to put her back or else risk the-child-that-never-leaves. Stay strong!!
ReplyDeleteAh....you've got a smart one you have. heh.

She is such a sweetheart. I do love that Arina goes to bed so well. She does cry for a bit now, because she now has a mommy and daddy that will get her out. Because 2 minutes and she's asleep!
ReplyDeleteSweet :)
ReplyDeleteWe have Russells crib in our room with us, but when Brad moves up to camp Russell comes into my bed with me.
Neither of my boys have any interest in sleeping with me, but mostly it's because I've discouraged it....I think. I'm not a great sleeper to begin with and having them in bed with us makes it even worse. Sutter however has never been good at going to sleep and would love it if I rocked him to sleep for each nap and before bed, but that doesn't happen very often. I did it when he was little but I like independent sleepers so I don't give in very often. My poor deprived babies! :)
ReplyDeleteThis is so sweet. I love snuggling Luc to sleep but actually sleeping with him is awful. I get kicked in the face, he will sit up and try to climb off the bed, it's like sleeping with a tornado.
ReplyDeleteKaetlynhas been sick all week and we have found her in our bed or us sleeping in the chair with her every night for a week...I do love the extra snuggles, but I'm pretty sure she now knows exactly what to do to NOT sleep in her own bed....ut oh! Hope Maddie is feeling better soon!
ReplyDeleteClaire has always been a great sleeper, but this past week she's had a cold and has been sleeping with us some too. She's a restless sleeper and I was so glad to get her back into her own bed!
